“Domestication of a Vampire”
– A Quirky Corners Novel
A vampire who doesn’t know he’s a predator and handler who just wants to eat pudding and be famous.
Wayward magic, betrayal, self-obsession, delusions of grandeur – but most of a town with chaos and bizarre inhabitants all with their very own agenda.
Genre: Contemporary fantasy/horror
Wordcount: 98K
Domestication of a Vampire has so far been submitted to three publishing houses. All three have offered a contributory contract (which I'm not accepting). Excerpts from their feedback:
EB: “What stood out for me the most about the book was the extensive and imaginative world-making. I was very impressed by how clearly defined and diverse the environment, culture, and history were constructed. The more psychological elements of resilience, independence, love in all its complex iterations, self-discovery, paired with the vampire themes made the reading entertaining and thought-provoking. The main character Cecil was characterized in such a way that the reader is able to identify his motives, backstory, and feelings. I did not find any filler pieces or narratives, and I did not feel dragged along. All in all, an original, poignant story ...”
OP: “... Well-written with a consistent and absorbing narrative, we believe that your work deserves a chance to reach the wider market.”
“I Just Haven’t Met You Yet”
100 dates, 1 inconvenient crush, and 17 personalities in one tiny, clumsy woman.
Genre: Romance/humour
Wordcount: 65K
“Attracting Trouble”
When you’re in desperate need for a date, you wouldn’t expect your best friend to set you up with his younger sister, would you? But he does – maybe mostly for his own entertainment. Ladies’ man meets man-eater.
Genre: Romance
Wordcount: 60K
